A number of people on the monsterfishkeepers website have used it without incident. Even on Ray tanks, and they are incredibly sensitive.
So yes, it's fish safe. People safe is another matter. Good luck.

I have started to bring in a quantity of "Pond shield" pond liner. any one looking to build a unique pond or water feature, May i suggest you have a peep at it. 5 colours or a clear, fish and plant safe. I dont want to be seen to step on anyones toes by mentioning the product here but should some one feel that i am, Please by all means remove this post or let me know by PM. I will be using this stuff on my new pond, so pics will come at a later date. Thanks |

Another option could be Sani-Tred Permaflex, which would be cheaper then the epoxy. http://www.sanitred.com/permaqualities.htm Or you guys down there have bitumen paint, which I couldn't find here in the US (asphalt that wasn't questionable like from coal processing or something). It depends on whether you're coating a cement pond, tank, wood or? BTW EPDM liner was cheaper than epoxy or urethane from what I could tell. |

yes a pond liner in epdm is cheaper... if you want black and can fold neatly hiding the excess. Bitumen type liners have been known to cause irritations to fish, according to an aquarium and pond supplier/builder i spoke to a fortnight ago. The list of things you can line with an epdm liner is endless, but I think if you were to build an inticate shape pond or feature for a show piece or display, cost would be of a lesser concern. |

Yep I would think about something else if the liner had to be folded a lot and you wanted it to look clean. Many shapes could cause a lot of wasted liner. |
