wrong thread probably , but Im wondering if anyone in Perth knows of a good place to get sheet stainless supplied & cut . Im looking for a piece of 3mm - 5mm cut to size , 2.4 metres long by 50 wide , for a kitchen splashback

I suppose Im looking for a sheetmetal fabricator , but all the places I went to last time I was looking werent interested , even though I'd measured to the millimeter , which Im adept at doing , they all said they "couldnt trust my measurements" and wouldnt cut it without measuring themsselves , yet all 3 businesses refused to send someone out to measure

So , anyone got a contact or know of a good place to get this done ? it'll sure help stop the roaches crawling in under my polished blackbutt windowsill f I had a fancy splashback there ...

My bet would to go in to a fabricator, say you want a X x Y x Z sheet of stainless steel. Don't say what it is for. I suppose 1 or mm out would not matter.

Being 2.4 metres long it is unlikely they would class that as an off cut, so they would have to cut a whole sheet up. I think the sheet size would be 2400x900 or 2400x1200. If you can afford it they would prefer you to take the whole sheet. Just like plexiglass. If I buy half a sheet it costs almost as much as the whole sheet but just cut in half. They have to sell the rest of the sheet to someone.

Have you looked at places like TL that make ute and truck trailers?

Just go to a steel yard and buy a sheet. Make sure they have a Guillotine and cut it there. If you need to drill holes do it before you glue it to the wall. I paid $350 for 1 sheet.
