Sorry if this is a dead horse. The only thread I saw was from 2012? I assume it is safe but wanted to check to make sure before I glue everything together. |

Some people think it's safe and others have questions about it. I think there probably is some leaching but it's probably not enough to lose much sleep over. Pipes in an AP system get coated with a biofilm over time, fish and plants seem to do extremely well. I've never noticed any effect on fish, plants or bacteria (but I"m not certain what I'd be looking for either). I would keep the pipes out of the sun as much as possible though. If you live in an area where lead is used in PVC manufacture then it might be good to use something else, although, I'd still probably look at how much of an issue it is. This falls into the category that everyone has to decide for themselves. |

Yeah PVC pipes are 100% Safe to use and they are durable too for long use. |
