Post subject:  Submersible pump recommendations

looking for some submersible pump recommendations for an aquaponics system that will be running in my apartment.

The setup will be a combination of grow beds and a tower type of setup that will require a head of at least 8' 6" and it should be relatively quite.

My past experience with submersible pumps was with RIO pumps when I ran a 75 gal salt water reef tank.
The RIO was a good performer and was quite enough for the room and lasted under constant use for several years.

Currently considering the RIO 14HF - 840GPH / 10' hd / $47.74 @ Amazon

Does anyone have any other suggestions based upon their own user experience?

Thanks
JamesNYC.

Rio is a good choice. Laguna Maxflo pumps would be another to look at. They have been very reliable but you'd need to check on the pumping height.
