Ron prepared a purpose built greenhouse, and they did their homework before having an aquaponics system installed.

There is plenty of space to grow their edible fish as well as vegetables. Both Ron and his wife are looking forward to growing in the aquaponics system.

Tank filling can be a slow process but there is plenty to do while that is happening as John clearly demonstrates.

The systems are a 2 bed Backyard system as well as a courtyard system. Ron decided to have 2 separate systems so that he can grow fingerlings in one system getting them ready for the large tank to grow out to plate size. The greenhouse is also home to some orchids and bromeliads which are enjoying the filtered light. They attended a workshop at the display centre in Jandakot which provided more information about managing the system as well as how to get the best results. We are looking forward to hearing how they go in the future months.

OOh nice.
Hey how come you dont sit pump in the middle of FT the run Venturi airator line off near edge of tank to airate, create wirlpool effect pushing fish waste to centre of FT to be pumped out. :dontknow:
Looks like the beginings of a great system. :wave1:

Ummm, I don't mean to be picky...

I understand where it's been installed makes all the pipe work really neat, but I wonder.... In the second picture the pump is right where the growbed return is, I wonder if this makes a difference in water flow in the tank? I'm guessing it might...

Still, sorry Carl and John, it is an extremely neat install.. :setup:

The subject probably deserves a new thread, pump and drain placement in a flat bottom fish tank.
