Fixed the side rails in place...



Bolted the hoops into place on the ground...



And started to put them up...

Called it a day... need my little helper to get the other side of the hoops up...



The wind guys delivered some of their stuff today...

That's massive,

That is magnificent! Can't wait to see it finished, will be beaut! how big is the system you plan on putting inside it and how big is that space?

My original helper for today, broke his leg playing footy on the weekend... so I had to co-opt my son... who arrived home from uni for holidays...

Set up the scaffolding...



Hoops stood, and taped... centre ridge in place...

Wow!

Started putting up the shade cloth...







Side curtains will go on next...

Coool... So does each side curtain roll up in one go or are there a couple of roll up along the length of a side?

Each side curtain rolls up as on piece Joel... I think.... see later post...

Intermittant rain has really interuppted progress on the site...

And I swear blind the manufacturer of the greenhouse kit must have worked for Ikea...

Coz, the manual must be written in Swedish, it's certainly not written in English...

There are pages which have been left out altogether... and there are pieces missing as well.... like the entire sliding door assembly... and other extra pieces, like a brace welded to the sliding door rail.... the wrong side...

And I never for the life of me thought that a kit system would require SOOO MANY holes to be drilled in hard steel....

Anyway... all holes drilled, everything plumbed/levelled and ready for the cloth... and the doors to be mounted...

Funny moment the other day... my mates teenage son came up for the afternoon... because he was bored sitting around home...

Gave him the job of setting up the far hinged door end... quite a tricky job...

He hummed and haa'ed for a while... and then decided he had it sussed...

Looked like he'd done a fair job....



And I wasn't going to say anything at first... but my laughter gave me away....

He'd assembled the end door bracing... inside the scaffolding....



He was pretty good natured about the ribbing I gave him on the way home... until I threatened to post the pics on his facebook page....

Most teens are not quite up to laughing at themselves quite so publicly as that.

But if you have never hooked up something wrong, you have never done much of anything. (I usually use that statement in my line of work in relating to running cables. "if you have never run a cable backwards, it must be your first day." Because we all make these kinds of mistakes on occasion. At least he has the excuse of being left to figure it out for himself and something tells me he probably gained by it.

Project is looking good so far. So exciting.

I have always maintained that the best people to hire are those that are aged between 14 and 25 years old as "They know everything" come to think of it I did too!
