More delays waiting on the hydroton supply... and transport difficulties.... but near complete...

Just need to plumb the grow bed supplies, and tank pumps in....

Hopefully the "sparkie" will return this week... and connect the power... :roll:

Sparkie connected the power today... curtain winders on... just a matter of filling up the tanks...

Peter, the client, can certainly be considered a dedicated AP'er... he's already initiated an expansion to the system... before it's even turned on.... :D :laughing3:

Spotted an unused blue tub a while back, and thought.. humm.. that'd make a good fingerling/hospital tank...

Then, the other day... the gardener emptied out an overgrown plant bed... and I thought... humm.. that'd make a good grow bed for the fingerling/hospital tank...

The farm manager had already talked about putting some dwarf fruit trees down the middle of the greenhouse... and so the idea was born...

Tank and grow bed.... down the end of the greenhouse...

The grow bed will be raised and partially positioned over the tank to drain back via a standard overflow standpipe (timer based)....

You can see that the grow bed has a couple of small holes in each end...

One end will be plugged.. the other will have a 19/13mm reducer fitted into it....

From that we'll just run a 13mm tube spine between the barrels and tee off into each barrel...

Each timer cycle will deliver a small amount of water during the full flood stage...

We'll fit a small valve to control or shut off the flow... depending on season, heat, evaporation and/or moisture of the barrels... the barrels will drain to waste any excess water...

The hole in the blue tank is being fitted with a float valve to automatically top up as required...

You see a view like that and it makes you wonder why we're all living in suburbia... but then the next day you've forgotten all about it and you're back to the 9-5 grind, traffic jams, living in your neighbours pocket... etc! :dontknow:
