Wazzup people 8)

Here is a link you WILL find useful:

http://greenupgrader.com/11708/4-simple ... -a-barrel/

It explains how grow potato in barrel and yeilds alot more for the space it uses in comparison to a field.
I dont think the sweet potato(different plants btw) will work so well because its more tuber vein.
I think yams, cassavas and things like peanuts should should also work well along with other ground crops
Nice addition your aquaponics system and should yeild some works too

I used something similar to this method. Unfortunately kind of lost track of it and didn't keep topping the barrel up so yield won't be as good as it could have been. I grew them in washing machine drums that I got from scrounging from the verge collection. (the trick is to gid the machine and dismantle it and put all the junk back on the verge before your street is done!) these drums are really good as made of stainless steel so wont rust (if u get a good quality machine) and full of drainage holes.
I added good sandy soil out of chook yard and covered with hay. Topped up with soil a few times as plants grew.

Haven't emptied drum to harvest properly but stuck my hand in this morning and got these without trying:
