This forum, and many others, are a wonderful source of research and info dissemination. Has anybody considered approaching govts and other funding sources for research grants? For example, there is a thread on pee-ponics with some great info, but still lots of unanswered questions. I'm guessing that if someone was given a small grant to pay for materials, they would be happy to conduct proper experiments, then list info and answer questions. The info would be very relevant to a wide range of people and the costs small. Has anybody considered this before or is it just a crazy idea? |

No Mercy On a more serious note. Yes I have thought that it might be possible to obtain a grant for some AP research at the backyard level. We also periodically see people working on their degree chose to study AP related topics. Along those lines, other organizations that I've belonged to have helped to fund scholarships for training students in a related course of study with the hope that this would benefit the hobby. A lot of things have already been researched that pertain to AP although they weren't necessarily done in AP so part of the problem is accessing the information and knowing that it applies. Another problem is that much of this has been done without being published. |
