There is a hydro place nearby, they throw out a heap of perlite every week. I've been collecting some, which I used in wicking beds, but now I have more than enough and am thinking of other uses Using with AP could be worthwhile, except I prefer sustainable sources like coco and rice husks, which are cheap and plentiful. I know it can be used with concrete, making it insulating and lightweight, this would be useful for an upstairs shower we are planning. Another option would be to clean and resell to hydro farms, who should be interested as profit margins are low. Can anyone think of other uses? |

Could make some hypertufa planters. I've always wondered whether this would work for some sort of tank as well. |
