I thought this was a brilliant idea as a mosquito repellant and at the same time if you put an air pipe with an air stone on the end into the tank this could be a solar powered tank aeration device. http://www.instructables.com/id/Solar-Scare-Mosquito/?ALLSTEPS If anybody built one of these for extra aeration that would be awesome. Regards, Martin. |

I agree Slowboat but for under $10 per item it might become practical to have someone in an area try and blanket the area for a while to work to eradicate the local mosquito population. I am not sure how effective it would be. I thought it might be really useful if you put a pipe to go down into a tank with an airstone on the end. If you have two or three of these floating in your tank you might have quite cheap aeration for your tank which also has the advantage of not being connected to/dependent on, the grid. |
