Hi, I bought my aquaponics around 3 weeks ago and half of my dozen trout fish have died, i have plants in there just starting to produce and the fish tank is filled with green water especially on the sides of the tank. The water is too dark for me to see any of the remaining fish at the bottom i have cover the tank and blocked alot of the sun from reaching to the inside and I wot be feeding the fish untill i can see difference in the algae. Is this the right way to go? Thanks Theha222 |

Can you post a pic of your system so we know a bit more about it. What have your water temps been and where are you located. Many systems in Perth would have been too warm for trout three weeks ago. How much are you feeding and what? What are your test results? Have you added any salt? Sorry for the interrogation, but thats what we need to know. |

I`m located in Melbourne and its fairly cold the water temp was below 15 and probably higher than 7 throughout this week. I used to feed them around a child handful but iv`e completely stopped for the last 2 days and covered the tank to block the sun from getting inside. i have not heard of putting salt in aquaponics and i will be testing the water soon throughout this week pictures will be coming soon |

I'm not an expert on it but Ive read that extra air is recommended for trout. Sent from my DROID SPYDER using Tapatalk 2 |
