yeah, older style injection system, lower pressures and can handle more contamination for longer.

I had to replace my Isuzu fuel pump after 30 k miles on biodiesel. It had 260 k total miles on it. Probably the failure is due to solvent nature of the BD eating the internal seals. I am carful to filter the oil and wash out soaps and dry well. After the change I added a 6 micron filter to the fuel system. NOTE: the old Isuzu uses an indirect injection which means it has lower compression but requires a glow plug for each cylinder. Therefore the injection pressure is relatively low.

The new Ford diesel will void warrenty if biodiesl is used. Newer Dobge with Cummins 24 valve head has oxygen sensor that will not allow burning BD.

My oil stove requires no electric power to operate. Once it is lit and burning I could drip waste oil it to the pot and increase the heat output but it is not worth the trouble. I get plenty of heat out of it now.

Yeah, pot burners work ok on waste oils, but they really need a vapourising burner to be clean.
