Compost worms do not eat plant roots, they will not eat any thing that is alive. They will not eat seeds that are still viable, they will only eat organic material that is dead and has started to decompose.

Lesslea---composting worms consume the slurry created by microbes decomposing organic matter. Don't worry about your roots; the worms won't eat them until the roots have been long dead.

My Dad supplies earthworms much cheaper than the retailers. also you get some castings with them that are full of eggs also.,you can PM if in Perth and I can pass on his details.

Thanks but I'm in Sydney. Are you talking about earth worms or compost worms?

There is some area of overlap in that compost worms can live in your garden/soil if you have enough organic matter in the soils top layers. But this is somewhat obvious if you consider we already mentioned their use in AP growbeds.

Worms can be posted just have to check your local Dept of Primary Products if they can be sent to your state.
