Yes, God has the biggest system, but he has some nasty buggers ruining his system's potential right now!

What I meant by sustainable...is who has the least input required and the most output?

Input meaning, food, energy, anything from the outside.

I guess another way to ask this question is who recycles output to input in their system, or who has the best self-contained eco-system.

Just curious,

Hypothetically, would it be possible to have a system whereby you grow various plants in AP growbeds/aft/rafts, and feed it all back to the fish - and not harvest either the fish or the plants for human consumption?

I.e could you create a totally closed loop with nothing going in and nothing coming out? no inputs and no outputs? (m just talking about food/nutrients, not electricity)

Obviously you have inputs in the form of solar energy via photosynthesis, but that is how the Earth works.

I wouldnt want to do this (besides for the sake of the experiment), but do you guys think it would be theoretically possible?

Fish pond, with grow bed beside it that slow drains to fish pond. Walk out with bucket every hour and bucket water from pond to growbed. Throw some worms from the compost bin in the pond.
Go back to house :D
