I recently moved to a place out in the country. This place came ready made with a flock of chickens. I love the chickens, but keeping the water available can be a chore.

here is a video of part of the solution.

(the move and the chores have kept me from rebuilding my AP system... but it's coming)

Looks good...So have you actually gotten any rain to fill that sucker up? We have had nada up here in months. I'm crossing my fingers for this weekend.

I tried one of those nipple waterers but the chooks never used it.
Eventually I lost my nerve and put back their regular waterbowl for fear of them dehydrating to death

The chickens and ducks will drink from the nipples. However they only do when the bowls are empty. They prefer the water bowls.

We haven't had any rain except one freak storm last week. It moved through in about 15 minutes. I caught about 20 gallons :)
