here are some picks of my pea seeding leaves, they seent o be drying up? but only from the base, the new top growth is fine and healthy. they are planted in a CF ben (abotu 1' below surface) and the water isnt stagnant (i have distribution bars so the water is wekk mixed). they dont get heaps of sun, but certineley enough to grow. any ideas, maybe a calcium deficiency

Could perhaps be a bit of potassium deficiency, look it up online and you'll get a better idea if it might be it. |

i looked up here http://www.hbci.com/~wenonah/min-def/peas.htm and thought it might be pottssium or phosphorous? im going to add some pottassium anyway but any idea how to add (or even if you can add ) phosphorous?? |

You should be able to provide any phosphorus needed with the addition of Seasol... indeed even a level of Potassium... applied as a foliar feed... on directly into the fish tank or sump... But continued uptake may relate to your pH... in terms of providing Potassium, if your pH is below, say, 6.5 ... then adding some EcoRose (Potassium BiCarbonate) ... will both buffer your pH back... and provide the Potassium needed... |

thanks rupe/ eb - yep ill add some seasol,. hvent for a while now. PH sits on 6-6.5 |

Maybe that's why they are called Peas? A mis-pelling of Pees? Anyway. I had some peas at first, and they all promptly died. Consensus was that is was from too hot weather. Apparently they don't like full sun and hot weather that much. Try getting them into some partial shade. Or wait for the weather to cool down before trying again. It is turning winter now in South Africa, I may just try the peas again.. |
