Yep, I prune mine (in the dirt) back to just the main stems I want to keep to maintain a good shape and leave just a few leaves on, always bounce back. Never overwintered in the AP though but it should work OK I guess. |

Yap, did it in AP in Perth... apart from cutting back, no special treatment required... still flood and drain as per normal... next spring, it will get a better headstart since the roots are already established... |

I prune mine at the start of winter or when they stop producing fruit. I prune like a rose so that all the unwanted stems and leaves are removed only leaving the main branches that I want it to re-grow from next spring. |

I just ignore mine, don;t even prune them, and they come back well when the weather warms up. |

Capsicums are similar chillis - can they be left also? - just took out a chilli last night - i thought it would die off - i'll whack it back in! |

Ha My chillis havent stopped bloody producing i have so many chillies I have to dry them and powder them up..... I have pickle jars full of chilli powder i keep handing out everywhere hehehehe.... and i use it for bug spray too.... I will be growing several other varieties soon once the seeds sprout... The chillis form really good and are BLOODY HOT so will be growing some more edible ones like jalepinos and scotch bonnets..... |

Chillis get frost bitten, so anywhere there are constant frost during winter they wont make it, unless in a hothouse. |

Got a small chillie plant in the ap outside and will be interesting to see if it shoots again in spring. We have had a few frosts so maybe not. Got a jalapeno in the greenhouse in a pot that is coming up to its third season. |
