Look at night - earwigs come at at night and some others also....
I use chilli and garlic - boil chillis and garlic, strain and go. dont rub your eyes after picking basil

Hi there I have some great silverbeet and basil that is being hastily consumed by some little critters. I have had a good look but have not found much. I have found a small green caterpillar about 12mm long which I enjoyed squishing. My question for you guys is; what can I spray these with that will not harm my Barra or other plants? Is there a magic concoction I can make? Cheers Wal |

I think Dipel (spelling) is a fish safe pest control. |

Roger that. controls black spot as well I think. I have used it and all good, give the leaves a good soaking, under leaves as well. |

There's a thread somewhere with the chilli garlic and onion spray worked well for me... |

Dipel is made by Yates and is available at Bunnings. It is a powder to mix and spray directly to the leaves. Caterpillars eat the sprayed leaves and the natural bacteria in the Dipel stops the digestive system from working. the 28 spot (14 either side) lady bug will eat plants.....this is the one ladybug that is a pest |
