Stawberries seem to love it, even with the system salted to 2ppt. This strawberry tube is flooded to about one third to half deep. Attachment: 001 (Small).JPG [ 73.74 KiB | Viewed 11695 times ] Huge strawberries, brassicas doing great and even marigolds in this one Attachment: 002 (Small).JPG [ 93.34 KiB | Viewed 11695 times ] In the byap CF bed the peppers have come good since switching over from autosiphon and the basil and cucumbers are doing great In this new one only 4 weeks of growth from seed for the beans and gerkin cukes and chives and spring onions doing great as well Attachment: 005 (Small).JPG [ 73.47 KiB | Viewed 11692 times ] |

I have found Mint Cappies Aubergine Tommies Watermelon Cuces Lettuce Chilli (particularly Jalepino and tabosco) go well back on F&D now with a CF sumptank |

I'm finding that the fennel doesn't like it at all... You can just make out the fennel plants under the chili plants, the other systems they have boomed, but not CF.. Attachment: P209069911 (Medium).JPG [ 370.81 KiB | Viewed 11343 times ] Silverbeet or Chard does exceptionally well. I've been surprised by some plants like Thyme which I thought liked drier conditions, is doing really well in CF. |

my entire system will be CF, what happens if a ammonia spike of say 2-4% happens? will it effect the plants? most spikes are worked out within 2-3 days. edit... my spinach has sprouted and a made a small 4 hole raft to float and test my transplant skills....they were so thin and whispy i might have to wait a little longer to handle them, i should see some results one way or the other in a day or two. paul |

I believe Creative1 and Eagle also run Constant flood. I've got some beds that are constant flood in a system that has lots of F&D as well. Banana did just fine in constant flood, perhaps too good, cracked the bed. Watercress of course does really well in constant flood, especially when flooded too deep. Okra did well. Peppers did fine. turnips mustard kale etc lots of things seem good in it. most everything else seems more concerned with the flood depth than if it is constant flood or not. The Papaya in the bed with the banana did fine but that bed had a few inches of dry gravel before getting to the water where the papaya was. In another constant flood bed where the water tended to come up to the surface of the gravel a bit much, the papaya didn't like it. |
