Post subject:  Problems with Melons & Snow Peas

Hi there,

I seem to be having problems growing melons and snow peas... and previously climbing beans as well..

The melons have the leaves withered dark brown while the snow peas and beans have their leaves withered light brown... and it seems to start from the bottom leaves up...

Any ideas on what's wrong??

Hey do you put something else than fishfood and limes to your system?
After looking in my books and reading the web, i found something in german.
I'll try to translate:

Quote:
When old leaves begin to dry out, and leaves ends become brown over yellow and the growth is slow till stopping, it might be a typical indication for potassium defenicy.

I do add seasol and chelated iron occasionally... either fortnightly or monthly...

Nitrate is a bit high at the moment... about 40ppm and above...

Salt level is about 2ppt...

I have the same problem with the new system.

Seasol, rock dust and a couple of ppt salt.
