Hey i've running my system for 2 weeks without fish, but only feeding water and putting the filter duff out of my aquarium in the growbeds.

So which is the right order?
1.) Put seedlings in the gravel
2.) Fill urea into water
3.) Put some fish in the tank

Dom

First you need to cycle your system with a source of ammonia, which can take up to 3-4 weeks (with lots of testing)
then once cycled ( with good bacteria) you can add fish and seedlings (still lots of testing)

The way we have done it successfully many times is to plant out our growbeds with seedlings and then add fish. Suggested stocking level is roughly 20 fish to 2 square metres of growbed, or 500 litres of media. Feed minimally for the first month. Works for us.
