My system seems to grow most things fine, but for some reason I can't get coriander to grow. Apart from nutrient issues, I suspect the issue may be the fact they only get sun from about midday until late afternoon. Any ideas? |

I fail to see the problem..... Why would you want to plant that stuff anyway.... |

coriander is notoriously hard to grow in QLD. Mine just bolts to seed, no matter what time of year. |

There are different strains. some that bolt to seed (the pack will usually say "for seed") and then the ones for leaves. Why they wont grow in AP? I have no idea, I hope mine *DO* grow as I have just planted more... |

I grow heaps of it as i am a curry lover There are different strains as pointed out I have grown it in the grow beds and in large boxes I have saved the seed from various strains and have fond that they grow better in the ground than the grow beds. They do seem to Bolt quicker in the grow bed ,as i use heaps of it along with lemon grass I just keep sowing it And Boris if you want some seed i will get Donna to bring so up to you ? |

Maybe it's just a QLD thing... I might try a couple of different varieties, both in AP and dirt and see how they go. |

Another way to grow it is to buy from an asian grocery store, sometimes you will find them in the fridge section in a lettuce cup, just add it to your floating raft and it just keeps on growing. |

I had lots growing in the monster bed but it didn't really take well to transplanting and neither did the Dill. |

Hi TCLynx, I fond the same problem transpanting from ground seedlings to grow beds did not work very well it took for ever for them to get going and they were stunted. Sowing direct into the grow beds worked better however not as good as in the ground Cheers Eagle |

Never had much luck when buying corriander seedlings and putting into ground. Always found they would go to seed, so I did some research and found an article that said corriander does not like to be transplanted and sudden temp change will also be too much of shock for it causing it to bolt. Recommended that corriander seeds should always be sown in final growing position and not disturbed and sure enough I have had success this way. Havnt tried it in AP yet!! |

I've had moderate success with coriander in my system, if I can only keep the grasshoppers off them. |
