im not sure what type they are, they were from a packet of seeds i got from a burkes backyard magazine at the start of summer, i think they are some heirloom species. the beds have shadecloth over them (held up by the sticks on the corners) thanks for the compliment!!! |

I had them in my dirt garden, prolific bearers (over a short period) lovely and juicy and the best tasting tom of all. You are right they are the Burkes Backyard Italian variety. Have them self seeding everywhere in the garden and have transplanted some into my GBs. PM me if anyone local wants some. Just happen to have the old label, a bit faded.

Please help? Indi Hey there, Indi! The problem is often lack of potassium. Some folks put bananas in their growbed to rot. I tend to toss in a handful of potassium chloride (sold at my local hardware at about $25 for 18kilos). I have no idea what levels would be good, but don't add more than about 100ppm (just estimating from memory). Another problem may be lack of pollination. You can check this by tapping each flower cluster a few times and see if that does the trick. Then there is excessive heat....and so on... |

I put in Gross Lizzy, spelling is prob wrong, But they didn't go very well at all. The fruit kept falling off before ripening and the skin and leaves looked discolored. I figured something was lacking in the nutrients but was not sure what to add. I have also found my corn, capsicum and egg plant have not done so well, any suggestions. |
