Most seeds you just plant in the clay like it was soil. I've thown seeds over the clay and most when under the surface and germinated.

If you are worried about the smaller seeds falling too far down in the clay balls you can wrap them in a smal piece of paper towel which will hold them in place and absorb and hold water to help germination.

When I cut open a tomato I want to grow I spread the seeds on a sheet of paper towel and let it dry in the sun. The seeds are stuck to the towel, then I cut a 10mm square of the paper around each seed and plant the square of paper with the seed attached. Close to 100% germination success rate.
