The one I once put in a grow bed didn't survive well, rotted. The plants out in my sandy soil are mostly doing well but haven't gotten any fruit from any of the tops I've planted so far. |

I havent put any in the ap system yet..(didnt have the room, but will) I planted 2 in pots 3 years ago and harvested both...... they were a little smaller than the store bought ones, but they were bright gold in color, no green and were twice as sweet..... I have planted 12 more and will stick a couple in the ap and see what happens... |

Pineapples like a little water in the cup of the leaves on occasion and don't necessarily need much water around the roots. Make sure they are planted in a bed area where the surface stays completely dry. |

I had them in my living room and they produced out of a pot. You need to cover in a plastic bag and put pieces of apple in the leaves. The apple puts off a gas that triggers fruiting. Only leave the clear plastic bag over it for a few days. It will do that about once a month and shoot out a little pineapple each time. |

After watching a couple of "how to grow pineapple" videos on youtube I mentioning to the Wifey the idea of growing them at home in a smallish pot (through winter inside and put out during the warmer months here in Tassie). She came home this arvo with 2 (with the leaves in tact for a change) for us to try out. The kids and I go through a couple a week we love them that much so should be a good (long

I've got a few in the gb's. They don't like the wet so I have them in a small raised area. More suited to the dirt garden. Just plant and forget. |

OK - picked up a pineapple today and the top is in water now. Once I removed the leaves, I found a nice size bruise on the core though....will it rot the whole top? Thanks Mark |

TAKE IT OUT OF THE WATER!!!!!!!! Leave it to dry out a bit before planting. Pineapple is one of the few things that won't root in water very well. We often leave a pineapple top sitting around on the counter for weeks before planting out. That tip about the apple? I'll have to try that some day. |
