Yes Jono, Dipel is the product for the job, and it's certified organic.

For Caterpillars, I've always picked them off by hand, it is effective, especially with cabbage moth, and the one I had eating my grape vines.
Now I have quail who love caterpillars, so I don't have to squish em in my fingers any more, just lob em into the quail cage.

You betcha... my Silvers love a caterpillar or two... don't bother "squishing" them... just chuck them in... usually don't even get close to the bottom...

hmm, my tanks are too far from the GB to defeat my lazy nature, but sure it's a great idea for those who have closer tanks or are motivated ;-)

If you could only grow your tomatoes over the ft. Then just shake the plant every now and then.

I believe in my system, because I have seen it for myself, that these monster catapillers up here, fall off the plant dieing, but wash them selves in the flood cycle and burrow under neith the clay. Then eat the plant from the root up. That is how I just lost my last good garden crop. If I flood the table so the clay floats....literally, they all crawl out of the clay for survival.

I would of picked out will into the 200 mark of monster caterpillars this way...all swimming for survival.

Hopefully next caterpillar season, I will get some photos for everyone. Its is ust so full on to see floating clay crawling with caterpillars....photo's are all ways the last thing on my mind :blackeye:

Dipel or Thuricide are a good choice for the lazy. Just beware of spraying anything on a very hot day, you might need to wait till evening if you are into summer weather there.
