As Watermelon is something like 92% water will it taste/smell like the aquaponics water? Just had a curious thought as we are eating today a watermelon bought from the supermarket while we wait for the ones we planted to grow. |

I was being serious dude - nothing that grows in AP tastes like the water. All that happens is salt uptake can change the flavour. High concentrations of salt will make tomato's and celery taste saltier - and quite nice tbh. Watermelon + AP = ![]() Yummy too. |

I've had celery taste a little odd at times, like rose hips and other herbs. Nothing else has ever tasted weird. But I would happily drink my system water. I was genuine in askin what the evil taste of your system was. My dog also prefers system water over tap water. |

I have never tasted the water and probably never would...considering the intense "farming" side of things and why they are there. Have you seriously drank your water? |

yeah why not? it tastes like clean river water, is always cool, has the tasty salts that tap water lacks and I know it's clean or my trout'd be dead. I wouldn't drink goldfish water. When ppl ask me if the veggies need washing, I rinse in system water and then drink some to prove it's good. it's really quite tasty so long as the seasol hasn't been near it for a while! |

well yeah... I said system water, didn't say where from... there's a small open pool in my system between cascasing GB... the solids would be a bit much for me if straight from the FT. |
