OK, here's my crazy tomato plant that survived the winter in one of my growbeds. It's started to produce fruit now that the weather is warming up, and I'm trying to build some supports for it to grow on as it's getting a bit rediculous.
Now comes the fun part. I'm going to weigh all of the tomatoes that the plant produces over summer, basically until the plant stops producing any more, which may be a fair few months away..
I want people to try and have a guess at how many tomatoes it will produce, the total weight of produce for one plant. I'll be offering a prize of some sort (I haven't figured out what the prize will be yet) for the person who gets closest to the right amount.
I know the picture isn't to good, but it gives you an idea of the size of the plant at the moment, it was taken yesterday afternoon..
So go for it........ One guess each...
Perhaps it will die off early due to disease or bug infestation, there's already a few caterpilars, perhaps it will produce heavily for the next 8 months, who knows..
