I did a search looking for info about growing potatoes, and found a pertinent hit or two, but all the rest seemed to do with sweet potato vines and eating leaves or feeding them to the fishes.

Is there a solid thread somewhere here on the cultivation of potatoes in an AP system? I've read enough to know that people have grown them in hydroton beds, but generally only to "new potato" size, and not up to baking size.

Has anyone done this personally, or have links to better info than what I've found?

Generally, because potatos like to be "hilled" during growth, and require a depth of media usually greater than most flood & drain growbeds... they pose problems in AP....

But some have done it in "satellite" pots/bins....

Usually the return vs space required... hasn't made it worth doing in AP...

On my thread there's photos of a trial I ran. I only got new potatos from it but I pulled them too early and planted them too late.
I have a number of plants growing already this year. Hopefully I will get large taters, but if not the babies roast up ok.
