Hi omek... you have left us all with very little details of your plight. I can't even go back through your previous posts as there are only 2.

Please help us to help you with some photo's for a start. An estamate on volume of water and fish in the system would greatly help for a start....

We need more information on your system to be able to help you out mate 8)

very cool little system...well done.

I am no expert but I am sure a few will join in.......but in what I just viewed on U Tube....not enough fish for a start and most probably a larger brow bed wouldn't go astray :flower:

the depth of the bed looks to be an issue straight up....meaning it doesn't look deep enough

Hey Omek,

Don't mean to be rude but in order for the helpful members of this forum to provide advice on your AP system, you will need to provide more details on your system. Posting multiple threads or topics pretty much asking the same bottom-line question (ie. why no growth) is not going to get you your answers.

Not sure about others, but for me, the youtube video audio was pretty bad, so if you were explaining about your system, I got nothing but rubbish. Sounds pretty much like a broken record.

I think you should start by writing in WORDS. Ditch the youtube video. Firstly what is the size of your tank (volume) and also the size of the growbed. Your pumping cycle. Stocking of fishes (what spieces, number).

I think Jessy might be on to something there about the depth your growbed. I think the recommended depth is 30cm, as for plants to grow up strong, they need good root system. Also your plants will need nitrate to grow. Have you tested your water for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Finally, it looks like you have used gravel as your growbed media. From my limited time in AP, I believe I have heard that there are trace elements in gravel hence your initial plant growth may have come from the trace elements from the gravel dust. But once the system is washed out for a while, the trace elements are used and gone, hence reduced growth. Just a guess.

Yup, I can't watch video, my net is capped. :-(
Small pics and big descriptions will illicit a more useful and thoughtful response.

Looks like you may be flooding too high, the water shouldn't go higher than 1 inch below the top of the gravel.
Some plants don't like wet feet.

Also you may be missing some trace elements, onion and lettuce pretty much only need water and a bit of nutrient.

Have you got salt in your system? Adding sea salt is the best way to get trace elements, also keeps your fish healthy.

How long have you had your fish in the system for? Bacteria take some time to mature, so it's possible you're not making heaps of nutrients yet. If this is the case please be careful you don't overfeed as the ammonia is not being processed.

When we ask for ratios, we mean volume of fishtank : volume of grow beds : volume of sump(if you have one)

i just check my grow bed just now and there are so many uneaten fish pellets filtered. any words for it?

yes..... stop feeding...let the fish get hungry again. Scoop all the waiste out...and let the system filter all the ammonia. My findings with fish is if ammonia is high...or out of there comfort range, then they do not eat
