Hello,

I have got a lemon tree (or plant as it is in a pot and not taller than 2metres) with citrus leafminer. Leaves are curled up with silvery tracks all over it. I use to cut the infected leaves and spray with Pest Oil.http://www.yates.com.au/products/pest-control/insects-concentrates/pestoil/

But now that I have got AP nearby, I thought that I should check if anyone have used Pest Oil near or on AP plants. If it is not recommended, can someone advise something to use??

Thanks guys. Not sure how the missus is going to take the idea of spraying pee onto the plant. It is just next to the clothes line. Anyway, I will figure something out.

Actually any dilution ratio? Morning pee better or midday pee??

Aged urine will have a far stronger odor so for spraying on a small tree, I would suggest fresh.
I would dilute it since urine is a very strong nitrogen/phosphorus fertilizer. Very hungry plants might survive repeated full strength applications but even for greedy plants 1:1 dilution or 50% strength is probably way strong enough. 10% pee to 90% water up to 20% pee to 80% water is a more normal dilution for fertilizing most garden plants. When I ran side by side comparisons using urine compared to miracle grow I did not see any difference in growth between the two groups over a six or more month period. I tend to give bananas, moringa, papaya and bamboo strong feedings while most other stuff gets more diluted mix.

As far as using it as a spray against leaf miners, I'm not sure what the appropriate dilution would be. You might want to test a few leaves on the plant with some guess about the dilution and then wait a week to see if there is any negative reaction before spraying the whole tree.

Well I think I will collect it in a container first before spraying onto the affected plant. I live in the more newly developed land, hence the neighbours aren't far away so I don't want to give them a shock.
