Normally the leafy fast growing plants and not so much the slower fruiting but its really hard to tell without knowing how low is low :)

Produce wise, the only ones I can think of are in the mint family. I have seen them grow on the Northside (Northern Hemisphere), in the shade of a house. If you have a lot of motled, shaded areas, how about growing house plants (spider plants, moss, ferns) or plants that are naturally planted in the shade of the Northside (azelias, rhodenderons, camillia).

Most of the gardening / veggie books will give an indication of shade tolerance. Those suitable for full shade (many bottom level forrest/jungle plants) should be OK.

I tied my tomatoes to overhead support then the beans grew up the tomatoes, up the strings, up the lemongrass,up the ginger...lol

and then the yams and passionfruit grew up everything
