For those fellow byapers near me who are having iron problems.
Today I picked up approx 1L of cast iron swarf.
This is Ideal (especially if you use an RSG) because cast iron has plenty of carbon for food for bacteria, plenty of iron for your plants, and is porous enough to provide homes for the bacteria. Also, being swarf, there's a heap of surface area available.

hmmm just realised I'd been extolling the virtues, and yet hadn't mentioned that this litre or part thereof is free to a good home, so if anybody wants it ;-)

First I though it was a garden 'ornament'

KP Make sure it does not contain oil or kero, they usit it as a lubricant when drilling and milling.

well of course it does, but I'm planning on cleaning it. Machining coolant is water soluble, easy to clean. There's very little oil in it at all really.
if not for AP, then it does exceedingly well under a lemon tree too
