I'm looking at planting a couple of tomatoes in the last remaining space of my setup. I know there are same great tasting tomoato varieties, especially looking in the Eden seeds catalogue. I thought I'd ask in here for personal experience/suggestions. So, what do you think is the best tasting tomato? |

I'll tell you in a month. I've got 2 black tomatoes and people keep telling me they are better than the red's. Only time and a couple of bits of bread will tell. Black Russian and the other one. |

Duff!! Purple Russian & Black Crim ??? I grew these last year, 1 had a fairly thick skin (not sure which) They were good for a tomato and onion salad giving colour contast. Depends on how you want to eat the Tomato. Roma's are great for sauces, Tommy Toes, Truss and Cherry's are good for a tossed salad, Beefcake/eater?? are good for frying up with eggs and bacon. I had a tomato come up in the dirt herb garden, not sure the type but was the best tasting sandwich tomato I have had in years, kept the seed no idea the type, kept fruiting for months after all the other tomatoes were dead and composted. I grew some black russian last season and was not impressed by the taste. To me, tasted a bit off. Might have just been mine though :-/ |

Baby red pair, Black K... something darn my handwriting is bad. Not sure of the type in the dirt garden but I know there are two different ones. If you have problems with the thicker skin try one of those V slicers. We had one for the cafe and after we sold it we got another one for home. Never use a knife after you play with one of those. WARNING THEY DO CUT THE FRACK OUT OF YOUR HANDS PLEASE USE THE GUIDE(FINGER GUARD) |
