Here's a wee chart I had lying around. The P(hosphorus) lockout as described here is something I've chased the tail of considerably.

- Your system will have lots of P, it comes in fish foods.
- Algae competes for P in system.
- Algae consumed in system makes for bio-available P.
- Foliar spraying trace elements is an easy way to dose your plants and not overdose your water.

Getting algae eaters working in your system will help the recycling of P.
Foliar spraying deficiencies with a good organic tea, bought or brewed, can save you grief and time trying to amend micros in your water.

In the following chart, The wider the bar the better the uptake.

Lets see if I have this right... the thicker the line, the higher the level of intake of the element/substance?
