Hello guys. I’m new here I’ve been reading a lot of things in here and it seems like my plants have some kind of deficiency since they have not been growing and they look very droopy. I have a 40 gl tank with a 20 gl growing bed full of expanded clay, we have 7 feeder fish that have been growing since December and a placo. The ph of my system is between 6.8-7.2 I took my water to be tested in a local agriculture store and they said my nitrates and nitrites are a little high. This system have been running since December and it’s a test system to get the hang of the aquaponic world so we can expand to a 400gl tank. We have some sweet basil, lemon basil and a couple of little mint plants. In supplements we have liquid seaweed and iron. Any help and or guidance will be greatly appreciated since we are very new. Thank you so much in advance

Based on the photos it looks very good. If this is an indoor system lighting is usually an issue. Be sure any lights are within inches of the plants, or add lights. Nutrient deficiencies are not my expertise, but I don't see any evidence of deficiencies in the photos. |

The plants look good to me too. But if they are 7 months old, they look a bit small & lanky. How much light do the plants get? You have left a lot of info out.The test you had done, said the Nitrate & Nitrite are a bit high.Do you know exactly what they are & was the system cycled when you started? or even if it's cycled now? & what's the air and water temperature? |
