We have had our system going for about 2 years now. 350 gallon fish tank of cat fish with 36sqft of flood and drain grow beds in a green house. Both years we have gotten amazing tomato plants but few to no blossoms. We have tried a few different varieties both determinate and indeterminate but still not the success we hope for. We are trying to learn with our small system before going big with it. Any suggestions? We also are looking for vegetable plants that do not require pollinators. Our cucumbers love the system but the flowers are too many and too delicate to hand pollinate. Our fig trees, dragon fruit, grapes, bananas, peppers and many other test plants love the system and are doing well. We got figs our first year.... We are also learning what plants do not like the system or may just be lacking the correct nutrients. Our water supply is from a mountain spring which is alkaline so we have to buffer down often. We really love this type of growing since we fight weather and lots of bugs when we dirt farm and hope to build multiple green houses in the near future if we can figure out what we are not doing correctly. We keep our PH between 6.7 -7. We are new to the forum so we will start reviewing all of the posts. |
