Hi .....we just starting to harvest the first lettuce from our aquaponic tunnel... BUT .... they taste lovely but only last 1 day.... next day after it was picked washed dried and in draw of fridge it is wilted .... any idea why..? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This might help - https://food-hacks.wonderhowto.com/how-to/make-soggy-wilted-lettuce-other-leafy-greens-edible-again-0152940/ I'm not certain what happened but some types of lettuce stay crisp better than others. I would expect crisphead lettuce and romaine lettuce (aka cos lettuce) to hold up better than leaf lettuces. |

Harvest in the morning. Immediately rinse and rough cut the clean lettuce. Remove excess water. Place cuttings in a plastic bag with a moist paper towel and loosely tie shut. Pop in the refrigerator. I have lettuce for the week that keeps it's shape. Good luck |

What is your nitrate level ? To high a level will cause this. |
