I have been growing Sugar Cane successfully for the past 12 months, but now I would like to give away the cane (I grew up in Qld and was hoping to resurrect childhood memories) but it occupies one whole 100L half drum and hits the roof of my AP area, then sags down, draping over me when I go to feed the fish.
Would anyone like some? or all?
Happy to give it all away, but would be interested in produce from AP or plants suitable for AP if you can spare some.
Please message me on the forum, I will respond by email if you include it in the message.
Tony

Grows like crazy in my system too - Found it wasn't very sweet, though not sure if that was time of harvest, variety or growing conditions. Was yours sweet?

Yes, mine was sweet. How did you eat it? The section nearest the root is the most mature. as you get closer to the leaves, the sugar content reduces.
I peeled it and cut between the nodes cut a 10mm piece across the grain and chew it.
Spit out the bagasse and cut another slice. Repeat until satisfied or cane is gone.
Bagasse is an excellent soil additive to provide humus.

I just lopped a bit off and chewed it... so may have been too high up. I'll try lower down next time :)
