Hi guys and gals,

In the past couple of months I've been studying like mad trying to learn all I can about about aquaponics before I take the dive. I've been considering plants I'd like to try, and I'm thinking either tomatoes or capsicums, as well as a couple of others.

I'm planning on growing indoors. Do I have to follow the same seasonal patterns as if they were outdoors? That is to say, does a plant need that 'break' between each growing cycle, or could I produce tomatoes throughout the year without any compromise to the health of the plant and the quality of the fruit?

I have a very vague recollection that they do, but I could be mistaken.

I also apologize in advance if this is a dumb question. I wouldn't be surprised in the information was right in front of me and I just wasn't paying attention.

Growing indoors is the same as growing in a Greenhouse. Tomato and Peppers in a GH are grown for 10-11 months of the year.

It's good to break the cycle with any pests as well. You could actually grow tomatoes and peppers as perennials in some climates, instead of as annuals which is how they are usually grown.
