Here is my Aquaponic Growth Speed Recorded. Each image is taken every other day.

This is 16 days of growth under Metal Halide Lamps 2000watts total or 236,000 lumens running 15hr a day.



I will update the image every two days till the plants die or stop producing. So all you will have to do is load the thread and the image will show up new with 4 frames then 5 and so forth. As the length extends I will speed up the animation.


Edited: Will edit every time the image is refreshed to include more frames to explain days.

looks good, pretty impressive growth for 6 days.... plants seem to enjoy the high flood

Do you have a spare camera mount lying around that you could bolt in place to get the pics in exact same position?

I try to take it as best to the same spot as possible.

I nailed a board in place right there so I could snap pictures from the same location with nails to stop it from being in a different spot. That should help some

As for how I made the animation well I took the pictures I put them in a .xcf file made in gimp image editor then layer them and save it as a gif specify my time for the animation and boom its done

Gimp is awesome for all kinda image stuffs. Tomorrow when I wake up I will mes with the layers and stack them better so they are not bouncing across the screen too.

Bring out the Gimp! Gotta love the gimp - I use it regularly.

What would be very neat would be for it to say what day it is on the bottom (or top) of the picture!

An interesting link if you havent got a spectroscope. Lumens arn't a good measure of what's good for plants

Sleeple lumens are important or should I say candle foot. Then you run into color temps that I am running about 4200K

best quote i ever read was this.

lumens are for people - PAR is for plants.

you can have as many lumen as you like of green light and a Photosynthetically active radiation value of zero!
