Hi Everyone,

I'm new to aquaponics and I've been experimenting on grow mediums. The one I'm using now is CocoPeat. My plants were growing well for the first two weeks then now the stems seem weak and long. Is it the lack of light or the growing medium because the rainy season has already started which allows only limited sunlight?

They look leggy to me. So lack of sunlight.

Do they have full sun all day? And how long were the stems when you transplanted them? Might be an idea to start the seeds outside.

It's in between the garage and our wall so it only gets midday sunlight. About 2 to 3 inches long I think when I transferred them. Should I put artificial lights to substitute for the lack of light?

You'll need some sort of lighting, artifical lights aren't cheap for ones that work though.

Do you have anywhere else you can move it to?

The system is already fixed into the place so my only option now is artificial lights. :(

Lights aren't cheap, to buy or run.

Can't unfix it? (sorry, I have no idea how it's set up there).

Do you think this greenhouse lacks sunlight?

I don't know if its enough, but maybe try to increase the light reflection on the wall by painting it white or covering it with white foil or something. more light is always better
