Post subject:  Yellow spots on plants
Hey everyone, I know there are charts out there to help me with this, but I can't find a match. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my plants, and if I have a deficiency, what sort of a deficiency are my plants experiencing.

Basically I am not getting any fruit except for a few peppers here and there. Plants growing at a normal rate but no fruits. I have peppers, several varieties, tomatoes, also several varieties, eggplant, cabbage, celery and parsley.

I have yellow spots on all my pepper plants and tomato plants. Here are some pics:

Looks like interveinal chlorosis with some necrotic (dead) spots. Did this show up on the old growth or the new growth first? I'm thinking either a magnesium or manganese deficiency. What's the pH of your water?

Some pics of the other plants would probably be helpful as well as a shot of the whole plant and area.

If these symptoms are on the older growth i would foliar spray Potassium and Magnessium every 7 days until things improve,i use MKP to which i would add magnesium sulphate.

Thanks for the reply scotty435. So basically it is happening mainly on the older leaves of the pepper plants and slightly on the tomato plants but not really on any other plants. My pH is about 7.5 - 7.8 depending on the day. I have been working over the past months on lower the pH, but my media is buffering the system a lot. Both my KH and GH are over 300. Also the water I use has a pH of 8.2.

Thanks for the suggestion dasboot, but MKP is not available in my area, no access to it. Any other suggestions of how to add Magnesium to the system water without raising pH?

Sourcing things is the same issue here in Thailand,it has taken over a year to find every thing i want,anyway MKP is mono potassium phosphate 0-52-34.maybe under this name you might be able to source it,as for magnessium sulphate or epsom salts i would foliar this and not add it to the system.
If you can’t find MKP try anything with zero N,its the Potassium you want, you can use any soil based fertiliser but only mix it at about 15/25% strength as per the instructions for foliar application,Potassium Nitrate makes a great Foliar Spray if you can source it.Foliar applications are not a substitute for the correct nutrient levels but can really help when things are not quite right.
I have done quite a lot of work on Foliar applications in AP if you want any advice i am only to pleased to share.

For the Magnesium if you can't find the other, this would work but this is more likely to scorch.

Epsom Salts - MgSO4 - 1 tsp per gallon for spray. Do not over apply and don't use on bright sunny days - this can cause leaf scorch.

I'd test out an area and apply shortly before dark.

scotty the ratio is one to two tablespoons per gallon.

Yep, I'm not sure where the amounts I have for this came from but 1 - 2 T per gallon is the normal amount as opposed to the 1 tsp that I listed. Try the 1 T per gallon dose.
