Backyard Aquaponics

I started small as recommended. I went with the 50 gallon drum system. I planted okra about two weeks ago and it was in the GB for only 5 days when I saw my first sprout. I have a couple of questions for you experts. I poured seeds across the bed and most of them came up do i need to thin them out? Also, I am looking forward and thinking when my okra is done I will plant something else. Can I plant a spring/summer vegetable now that we are heading into fall (Zone 8 NW Louisiana)? If I put my barrel in a greenhouse could I produce summer veggies throughout winter?
