Hey peeps, i've been trying to grow Broccoli's here in SE Qld for 8 months now and it just isn't happening. First off i just couldn't get them to flower at all, they just keep growing skyward, had to stake them as they kept falling over. i assumed it was too hot but continued to grow them to find when i could grow them successfully. They have started flowering now but not how 1 wants them to. See pic. I also have some corn behaving similarly however i am also growing it successfully so not sure of the issue, see pic also attached.
Any help muchly appreciated

Probably not enough light is causing them to grow leggy until they fall over. I found that too when I tried growing them in my undercover system. They need full sun in winter to form heads

Looks like they bolted too.

Do you know what the source of the seeds were? It wasn't some sort of broccolini or something?

Broccoli is also a cool weather crop, they'll bolt if it's too hot, I'm not sure what's considered too hot, but your mid 20's looks nice to me.

Also if there is too much potassium/phosphate in your system, it might encourage flowering/bolting? Same as it encourages tomatoes to flower and fruit more?

Mmm thanks guys, the ones in the dirt are doing the same now, so thinking it is light and or temp, they are under cover in my green house.
