My wife and her mother own a cleaning company. They needed me to move a pile O' stuff out of a garage.

I scored a full gallon of liquid iron. I've had it a while and wasn't even aware I had it till I was moving pool chemicals around the other day.

Is this better than the granulated form for having iron deficiency issues?

If so what ratio about for IBC FT

First off I looked back through your system thread and noticed that you ordered some Maxicrop plus Iron and that the pH of your system has been running 7.4 to 7.8. At that pH the Iron in the Maxicrop probably won't be plant available if you add it to the system water (there may be some natural chelates that are still though). In situations like this it should be applied as a spray (For foliar feeding 1 Oz per gallon or about 30mls per 3.8 L then spray directly on plants.).

I can't guarantee that this will be safe (very likely, it is). I would use this as a spray only and with caution because they don't tell you what else is in the bottle. The liquid iron uses iron sulphate but they don't say if they chelated the iron or what they used to make it soluble. We have to assume they didn't chelate it (although I wouldn't be surprised if it is) - it will not be plant available if you add it to the water in your system (because of the pH) so spray it on. Use the instructions on the bottle to get a rough idea of how much to dilute the product before spraying. I'd be tempted to call the manufacturer and see what they say the other 95.5% of their product is (probably won't tell you anyway)

Thinking I'll just use the Maxicrop and know I'm not damaging my system. Will use this liquid form on some trees that I have planted around the property and look kinda skimpy. As I planted a 5 in one dwarf pear in my aquaponics and it's going crazy. Thing is I planted the pear two weeks after the rest of the trees that I planted in soil. The things that make you go hmm
