ADM has a large scale Tilapia operation producing 50,000 pounds of fish a month.

Its a self contained system from birth to death. They feed their fish a 77.75% mixture of distillers solids and soy meal. It gives them great growth, so the idea is its GOOD to distill your own alcohol so you can have a good source of starch free protein. Its also VERY cheap. So, just an idea for cheap feed and a little home brew is not bad either!

What really got my attention is that ADM uses a large bed of chives as a bio filter because they are heavy nitrate feeders. Further, they don't sell the chives they make an emulsion of chives concentrate to use a human safe biodegradable organic insecticide which they use next door at their large lettuce and cucumber green houses! Now that has really got me thinking; "What a great idea".

ADM may be a beast, but they do know how to pull a profit. It seems that this would work for us on a backyard scale. Its should be safe right?

Its hard to tell in the pic, but thy have a floating raft system.

That is really cool. And stills are easy to make asevidenced by all of human history.

So what do you think about the chive insecticide?

The distillers solids are loaded with mostly protein without the starches that cause so many health issues. A local winery will sell the distillers solids for $3 a hundred pounds! Mix that with some duckweed or something with micro nutrients and you have good fish feed. Its almost pre-digested so the fish can use it easy and grow fast.

That book has other really great ideas too. I will try to post some more of the ideas monday.

No matter how many good ideas they might have/had have....

There's no way I'm going to offer praise to anyone or any institution that's been involved in slavery....

To do so in 2005 just shows a fundamental disrespect for humanity, respect, ethics, morals, religious beliefs, philosophy etc....

There never was any mitigating excuse... to do so with the prior knowledge of history just shows the absolute gutless contempt of those involved in the company who masquerade as "people".

While I wouldn't advocate murder or even the death penalty.... these sort of pricks should probably be wiped from the face of the earth....

As should most of the rest of the gutless company directors that relocate "off-shore" to utilise semi-legal sweatshops and exploit cheap (near) slave labour.
