You can add Charlie Carp along with Seasol and that should see you up and running.

Peeponics is a tried and proven method to get started. just don't over do it and kill the fish ;)

I just started a new system myself, I added the fish, the plants, the air stones into the tank got everything running and then I added liquid worm castings, I added 1.5 litres to a 2,000 litre system. All levels were at a big fat zero before I added the liquid castings and over night I had 40 ppm of nitrate. 4 days later I have noticed a spike in growth. I bypassed all the ammonia and nitrite hassles and went directly into nitrate in 24 hours.

you didn't "bypass" the ammonia.. you will still get a spike if you haven't started the bacteria colony

Hey Robd

I'm pretty sure that seaweed extract on its own doesn't have the ammonia you need.
