Hi all
Today I inadvertantly brought some watermelon seeds that have been treated with thiram. I know I shouldn't feed this stuff to animals, but are they safe to use in AP?

I put some bean seeds in my system that had been treated - but first scrubbed the thiram off. Needless to say I didn't get a good rate of germination. If you are set on using the seeds, I'd grminate them outside of the system and plant them out later. THe thiram tends to stick to the shell of the seed - which can be removed after germination.

That is the best idea outside germination.

I agree--germinate outside the system and ditch the seed coat. Maybe even just germinate in a wet paper towel. Be very gently transplanting watermelon. Squash/melons don't transplant as well as some things. Careful not to break the root.
